Residents of the northeast Scarborough community of Rougeville can get a first look Wednesday, Feb. 10, at a TTC rail yard proposed west of their homes.
The transit authority is planning a storage and maintenance yard for light-rail vehicles at 8304 Sheppard Ave. north of Conlins Road.
The site is on a wedge of land extending to Thornmount Drive, its northern tip beyond the eastern end of Casebridge Road.
Details will be at an open house, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, 5183 Sheppard Ave., or at www.toronto.ca/transitcity
Transit City and the TTC plan to complete the 14.8-kilometre Sheppard East Light-Rail Transit line by 2013, with construction of the portion from Morningside Avenue scheduled for 2011.
