Cho set to defend his position in Scarborough-Rouge River

It's official: Raymond Cho wants his job for another four years.

The longtime Ward 42 city councillor responded to an early rush of registered contenders for his Scarborough-Rouge River seat by registering himself Thursday, Jan. 14, saying he wanted to stop a rumour that he wasn't running again.

So far, Cho faces three other candidates in York Region public school trustee Neethan Shan, Rougeville ratepayer group president Shamoon Poonawala and computer consultant Mohammed Ather, who ran against Cho in 2006.

Another 2006 contender for Cho's job, Kumar Nadarajah, registered to run in the ward this week but then withdrew.
