Police warn residents in street-level apartments to be wary

Toronto police have issued a public safety alert following yet another frightening residential break-in near Dundas Street West and Bathurst Street.

This time around, the female occupant of an apartment building discovered a man inside her unit at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21. She started screaming and the man fled the scene.

He is described as a white male, about 35 years old, 6' tall with a slim build and short, light brown hair. He was also unshaven.

A similar situation occurred in the immediate area on Tuesday, Sept. 29 when a man entered a woman's apartment. She discovered the man and started screaming as he tried to speak to her. The suspect then fled the scene.

He is described as a white male, about 27 years old, 6'2" with a slim build, short, light brown hair with a low hairline on his forehead and unshaven.

Once again, police are warning residents of street-level apartments in the area to secure their windows and doors to protect themselves from potential prowlers or thieves.

Anyone with information should call 416-808-1400 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or www.222tips.com
