Warning issued after girls report suspicious man

Police are warning the public about a possible sex offender in the Beach.

The first incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 16 near Queen Street East and Bellefair Avenue.

Investigators report two 11-year-old girls were walking along Queen Street East during their lunch hour when a suspicious man started following them.

The girls alerted their principal about the incident once they got back to school.

There are further reports that a man in a vehicle followed a 12-year-old girl home.

This individual may be the same one who reportedly followed the two schoolgirls on Feb. 16.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 45 years old, and 5'9" with a medium build and grey/silver greasy hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, a black T-shirt with "Just Do It" in white lettering and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5500, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
