Watch out for construction for next four weeks

Motorists, pedestrians and cyclists should be aware of construction activity on Leslie and Commissioners streets over the next four weeks.

Starting Tuesday, Feb. 21, TTC workers will begin conducting geotechnical and hydrogeological testing required for the design of the connecting light rail vehicle (LRV) track as well as to assess construction options.

The work, which is being done in preparation for the new Ashbridges Bay LRV storage and maintenance facility, will take place daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. north of Lake Shore Boulevard East and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. south of Lake Shore Boulevard East.

To accommodate a truck-mounted drill rig, one westbound curb lane (at two locations) on Commissioners Street as well as one lane northbound (at three locations) and southbound (at two locations) on Leslie Street will be off limits.

A traffic control crew will be on hand with proper signage and pylons to help with managing traffic.

For information, contact Lito Romano at lito.romano@ttc.ca or 416-397-8699.
