The YMCA Scarborough Town Centre is celebrating and promoting all things green at its Eco Family Day Fair on Monday, Feb. 20.
The Eco Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features LEAF (Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests), Toronto and Region Conservation, BIGonGreen, battery collection and guest speakers. Robert Wakulat will speak at 10:15 a.m. about solar panel projects and communities while Stephen Kerr will give a solar cooking presentation after that.
The event is also ribbon cutting for the solar panels installed on the YMCA's roof back in October. Scarborough Centre Councillor Glenn De Baeremaeker will be on hand for the ribbon cutting at noon.
The YMCA Scarborough Town Centre facility is located at 230 Town Centre Court, near McCowan and Ellesmere roads.
Also on Family Day, Scarborough's North American Muslim Foundation (NAMF) hosts its fifth annual Family Fair from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The fair takes place at NAMF Islamic Centre, 4140 Finch Ave.
