Two women and a man are recovering from serious injuries after the car they were in crashed on Hwy. 401 east of Victoria Park Avenue Friday.

The single-vehicle collision happened in the eastbound collector lanes at 9:57 a.m. on Feb. 10.

"It (car) did strike the cement barrier on the left side of the collector lanes and then sort of ping-ponged across all four lanes and then hit the right cement barrier," OPP Sgt. Dave Woodford said at the scene.

The three occupants of the vehicle were taken to Sunnybrook hospital for emergency treatment. A woman in the rear passenger seat was the most seriously injured, police said.

The eastbound collector lanes were closed between Victoria Park and Warden avenues until about 12:30 p.m. as police investigated.

Woodford said police are interviewing witnesses.

But he urged others who saw the crash to come forward.

"Sometimes it takes two or three people. They all see different things and we can piece things together."
