Gunshots fly through Tandridge neighbourhood

One man is hospital and three others are in police custody following a shootout at a Tandridge Crescent housing complex on Thursday, Feb. 9 afternoon.

Toronto police Const. Tony Vella said gunshots erupted at 75 Tandridge Cres., which is located near Albion Road and Elmhurst Drive, between the four men at around 1:50 p.m.

"It looks like four males, all with guns, (were involved)," he said. "Shots were fired striking just one man, who was struck in the leg. Several shots were fired."

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the three other men have since been arrested and taken to 23 Division for questioning.

Police recovered a loaded firearm from the scene immediately following the shooting, Vella added.

"It's unclear if this weapon was involved in this case or not, but police have located a loaded firearm," he said, noting that the K9 unit was on the scene searching for additional weapons.

A second firearm was also later seized.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact 23 Division at 416-808-2300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477 (TIPS).
