Funkyland production doubles as fundraiser

Famous PEOPLE Players' production of Funkyland doubles as a fundraiser for Etobicoke Services for Seniors support services one night next month.

Proceeds from the Saturday, March 3 lunchtime performance of the rock 'n roll-style production mixed with jazz and blues support frail and isolated seniors living at home in Etobicoke. The production features music by Canadian artists.

The world-renowned black light theatre company that employs developmentally challenged people celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2009.

Famous PEOPLE Players is at 343 Evans Ave. just east of Kipling Avenue in the Sherwood Industrial Mall.

The day of the show, doors open at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is served at noon in the theatre's dining room. The performance starts at 1 p.m. followed by dessert, tea or coffee after the show.

Tickets include lunch with dessert, tea or coffee, performance and all taxes and gratuities.

Tickets for adults are $75. Children younger than 12 are $65.
