Police officer injured, man rushed to hospital without vital signs

Shooting near Danforth and Coxwell avenues, SIU investigating

A Toronto police officer has been injured and another man rushed to hospital without vital signs after an incident near Danforth and Coxwell avenue.

Paramedics responded to an emergency call in East York around 10 a.m. with the man rushed to St. Michael's Hospital. Witnesses reported seeing emergency workers performing CPR as the man was rushed into the hospital.

Milverton Boulevard is closed from Woodington to Glebemount avenues for the police investigation.

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate.

The SIU is called when there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault involving the police.
