Four Villages challenges residents to hit the streets for health's sake

Four Villages Community Health Centre is challenging local residents to revisit their new year's resolution by participating in a community family walk in High Park.

Organizers are encouraging people to get out and get fit, while enjoying the outdoors and possibly making a few new friends.

The community walk takes place Sunday, Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to noon. Participants are asked to meet just inside the Bloor Street West and High Park Avenue entrance near the Black Oak Cafe, a food stand and covered picnic area.

The idea for the walk was the brainchild of two volunteers at the community health centre's Dundas Street West site, who are members of the High Park Walkers, a group that meets every Tuesday to exercise together. Their objective: to raise awareness of the many health benefits of walking. To register for the Feb. 12 walk, call Katie or Chantal at 416-604-3362.
