The annual Chinese New Year community fair will take place Saturday, Feb. 4 at Riverdale Collegiate, 1094 Gerrard St. E. at Jones Avenue, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
The community fair will include information displays and live entertainment including a lion dance, Kung Fu demonstrations, folk dancing, a magic show, aerobic gymnastics and Chinese orchestral music.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.

The fair is jointly organized by MPP Peter Tabuns, Ward 30 Councillor Paula Fletcher and Toronto District School Board (TDSB) School Trustee Cathy Dandy as well as the Support Enhance Access Service (SEAS) Centre, the Ralph Thornton Centre, Eastview Neighbourhood Community Centre, South Riverdale Community Health Centre, WoodGreen Community Services, East Toronto Community Legal Services, Jimmy Simpson Community Centre and the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

Lucky Chinese lions will also be making their annual visit to East Toronto Chinatown this Saturday, Feb. 4.
The festivities will get underway at noon at the Zhong Hua Men Archway, which is located near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East.
The lucky lions will go from door to door bringing good luck and good fortune to the merchants.
Judy Ouk, the new president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce (East Toronto), alongside Ward 30 Councillor Paula Fletcher, MPP Peter Tabuns and Craig Scott, the recently chosen federal NDP candidate for Toronto-Danforth, will accompany the dancers, who are from a group called Toronto Northern Legs and Southern Fists.
The Year of the Dragon began on Monday, Jan. 23. Celebrations take place over 15 days.
