The younger half of the father-son duo responsible for terrorizing Junction residents and business owners was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Ralph Scala, 39, had been wanted by police since late November for uttering threatening remarks in front of reporters at his father's bail hearing.
Since that day, 11 Division Det. Todd Hall said police have been asking Scala to turn himself in during several phone conversations. He was arrested at the Etobicoke condo he shares with his father around 10 a.m. Wednesday after officers obtained a warrant.
Scala had reportedly been holed up in his home for a month and a half, according to Hall.
In 2009, Scala pleaded guilty to 49 charges. These included mischief and criminal harassment. Meanwhile, his father, Felice, pleaded guilty to one charge of breaching a peace bond.
After his comment in November to reporters that, "I've got four months to go. A lot of people are going to be selling their homes," Scala is facing an additional 78 charges, including threatening damage, mischief and failure to comply with probation.
The reason for such a long list of charges is due to the fact that Scala had been ordered to stay away from 26 local residents - directly or indirectly.
Scala was expected in court at Old City Hall Thursday.
His father was granted bail in December, however, cannot visit his wife, who still lives in the family home. Nor can he be near the house.
