Two charged during RIDE's first week

Two Mississauga residents were the first to be charged with drinking and driving offences after being stopped at a seasonal RIDE (Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere) spot check.
Peel Regional Police released statistics today from their first five days of stopping drivers to check their sobriety.
More than 4,600 cars were stopped and a total of 13 charges were laid. Another 39 people were handed temporary licence suspensions.
Charged with having an excess amount of alcohol in their blood are 23-year-old Marc Decelles and Abdulftha Ali, 46.
Some 40 full-time Peel officers will be on the road doing special RIDE enforcement until New Year's Day.
