Election signs going up in Scarborough-Agincourt trustee race

Fourteen candidates seeking seat on public school board

Agincourt's public school board byelection is becoming more visible, after its 14 candidates were permitted Thursday, Feb. 1, to start posting campaign signs.

Signs from those running for the Ward 20 Scarboroug-Agincourt Toronto District School Board trustee position cannot be placed on most public properties, including city parks, and the city can remove illegal signs after residents phone 311 or email 311@toronto.ca to report their locations.

Candidates running to replace former trustee Soo Wong, who elected MPP for the area last fall, in the Feb. 27 byelection are Monica Batac, Kelly Belbin, Appoline Gallaza, Khamy Ganeshathasan, Scott Harrison, Winston John, Ron Lowe, Kajabal Mahalingam, Carol McDonald, Sharon Meade, Sam Sotiropoulos, Kenny Tsui, Manna Wong and Sonny Yeung.

The public board's Ward 20 covers northwest Scarborough from Hwy. 401 to Steeles Avenue, and from Victoria Park Avenue to Midland Avenue (north of Finch Avenue) and Brimley Road (south of Finch).

All campaign signs must be removed by Mar. 2.
