There may be big changes at Toronto City Hall, but aside from a few new faces, things will stay the same as they were last term at the North York Community Council.
On Wednesday, members of the community council re-elected York Centre Councillor Maria Augimeri as chair and Don Valley West Councillor John Parker as vice-chair. Both councillors held those positions during the last term of office. "We voted for continuity," said Augimeri after the morning vote. "We've always been a collegial group - we have a lot of respect for both sides of the political spectrum. We've always been very civil to one another, very respectful and courteous - and in that tone we'll continue on in North York."The community council is one of four in the city, and it deals with local land use planning matters and has final say about smaller neighbourhood issues such as traffic calming. The North York Community Council will have three new faces: North York Centre Councillor James Pasternak, Don Valley West Councillor Jaye Robinson and Eglinton-Lawrence Councillor Josh Colle."I'm excited to be working with all three of them," said Augimeri.
