The City of Toronto's unionized outside workers will be voting on a new collective agreement with the city on Monday, Feb. 13, after negotiators wrapped up details of the settlement reached last weekend.
CUPE Local 416 and the city announced that they had a deal in principle last Sunday morning (Feb. 5) after negotiating through the night - and past a strike and lockout deadline.But both sides had to go back to the bargaining table to nail down specific contract language. No details of the agreement have yet been released. On Monday, the union's bargaining committee will present those details to the union membership, and recommend that they ratify it.Assuming the union membership ratifies the deal, it will then go before Toronto Council for ratification.
