An elderly man is dead after the car he was driving hit another car head-on in Scarborough on Friday, July 4.
The collision happened at 1:47 p.m. on Eglinton Avenue at Barbados Boulevard, west of McCowan Road.
Police said an eastbound blue Oldsmobile veered into oncoming traffic and struck a westbound black Acura.

The other driver, who is in his late 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to The Scarborough Hospital, General Division where he was treated and released.

The names of the drivers weren’t released.
Police closed Eglinton between Danforth and McCowan roads for several hours as they investigated.
“We only have a few people who we have spoken to who witnessed the whole collision,” Sgt. Claudine Thomas said at the scene. “I’d appeal for anybody who did witness the collision to call traffic services.”
