The June garden is bursting with blossoms - and inspiration! And local residents will have a chance to experience that this Saturday, June 23, during the Magical Gardens of Leaside Tour.
Hosted by the Leaside Garden Society, the annual event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year's self-guided tour includes nine special private gardens and provides the opportunity to meet the homeowner gardeners, ask questions and learn how these spaces were created.
This year's mix of mature and newer gardens in a variety of styles highlights the peace and tranquility of urban garden spaces. The gardens will showcase a broad spectrum of plant material including trees and shrubs, native perennials, herbs and tropicals. Also featured are design features such as pools, fountains, arbours, decks and pathways.
Tour passports, which include garden addresses and a map, are $10 each (adults and children) and are available from the following local merchants:
Gentry Clothiers - Sunnybrook Plaza
Royal LePage- 1391 Bayview Avenue
Stars- 900 Millwood Road
Urban Nature Store - 939 Eglinton Ave East (at Brentcliffe)
