Community invited to participate in TCDSB budget consultation

East York Mirror

Toronto's Catholic school board is currently seeking input into the development of its 2012-2013 budget.

The board requests all interested parents, students, staff and Catholic school supporters to share their views and ideas through a Budget Consultation Survey available online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/consultation2012 until Friday, June 1.

Those who wish to address the board of trustees in person are invited to attend a public budget consultation meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 29 at 7 p.m. in the boardroom at the Catholic Education Centre, 80 Sheppard Ave. E.

The evening will include a brief overview of the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) draft budget, as well as an opportunity for participants to ask questions or share their ideas for consideration by the board.

TCDSB Chair Ann Andrachuk reported the board is once again looking at a balanced budget for 2012-2013, thanks to "careful planning that continues to reflect fiscal responsibility and accountability."

"The consultation process will help to guide our decision making process as we try to determine the best use of available funds," she said in a statement.

Participants who wish to speak at the budget consultation meeting are asked to register with the recording secretary at 416-222-8282 ext. 2293.

Those who are unable to attend, are invited to visit the board's website at www.tcdsb.org/board/budgetandfinance/pages/20122013budgetconsultation.aspx and send written submissions to Budget Consultation c/o TCDSB, 80 Sheppard Ave. E., Toronto, ON M4L 1M5 or by email to budget@tcdsb.org
