Santa visits Etobicoke Lakeshore

Toy donations and letters to Santa collected along parade route

It’s the first weekend of December and Santa Claus has made his way to Etobicoke Lakeshore.

The 26th Annual Etobicoke Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade kicked off Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Dwight Avenue, travelling west along Lake Shore to Long Branch Avenue.

“Beautiful morning for the annual Lakeshore Santa Claus Parade,” tweeted out Mayor John Tory, this year’s parade Grand Marshal.

Along the route, members of the 22 Division Community Police Liaison Committee collected non-perishable food items and new toy donations for the annual Christmas Drive, while Canada Post officials were on hand to collect letters to Santa.

Post parade holiday fun at Colonel Samuel Smith Park, 3145 Lake Shore Blvd. W., followed at 12:30 p.m. with a Skate with Santa event and Kids Zone.
