BAPS Charities will once again put its best foot forward this weekend in support of The Hospital for Sick Children at the 14th annual BAPS Walk-a-thon.
BAPS Charities, a non-profit international charity organization founded in 1907, began their fundraising efforts for SickKids back in 2008 after a young boy from the community became ill with leukemia and underwent treatment at the hospital.
On Sunday, Aug. 28, BAPS will host its 14th annual walk-a-thon in support of its 2010 pledge to raise $100,000 over five years to support the SickKids' Research and Learning Tower.
Walk-a-thons will also be held Sunday in Edmonton, Calgary and Fort McMurray. The Toronto event will take place at BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir Complex, 61 Claireville Dr. (near the intersection of Finch Avenue West and Humberline Drive).
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
