A woman in her 30s is in serious condition in hospital after being stabbed late-day Monday, March 14 inside the north Etobicoke bank.
Police were called around 4:30 p.m. to a bank near Kipling Avenue and Markbrook Lane.
Paramedics rushed the woman to Sunnybrook hospital.
The woman’s partner entered the bank armed with a knife and stabbed her multiple times in the arms and upper back, Toronto police Staff Sgt. Brian Kay said Tuesday, March 15.
“It was a domestic situation, sadly,” Kay said. “Her significant other attacked her at the bank...It was a pretty large knife. Witnesses described it as a butcher knife. It was a pretty vicious attack, from the (bank) video we’ve seen.”
Kay said the woman stabbed is expected to recover from her injuries.
The suspect has been located, Kay reported.
