What's open, closed Easter weekend
It’s a holiday weekend and you will need to plan your shopping around some closures.
If you are looking to hit a mall and get a head start on your spring wardrobe, you will have to do so Saturday or wait until Monday as Newmarket’s Upper Canada Mall, Vaughan Mills, Markham’s Markville, Richomond Hill’s Hillcrest Mall and Thornhill’s Promenade Shopping Centre are closed Friday and Sunday,
Get your dinner items today or Saturday as major grocery stores are also closed Friday and Sunday, but re-open Monday. The same goes for the LCBO and Beer Store.
Renewing your driver’s licence or health card will have to wait as government offices and services will be closed Friday through Monday.
Most recreation facilities, such as the Magna Centre in Newmarket, will be open Friday and Saturday with regular schedules, but closed Sunday and Monday. It’s best to check with your municipality’s website to confirm hours and which activities are being offered.
Most banks will be closed tomorrow as well.
The McMichael Canadian Art Gallery in Vaughan is open every day this long weekend, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and most movie theatres will remain open as well.
