Car crashes into TTC bus
A 54-year-old Toronto woman was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries Sunday morning after crashing her car into a bus in south Etobicoke.
Const. Clint Stibbe said police responded to the collision call at Royal York Road and Hillside Avenue on March 3 (north of Lake Shore Boulevard West) at around 9:53 a.m.
“A 2004 Honda was (travelling) westbound on Hillside Avenue at a high rate of speed. The vehicle, as it was approaching the stop sign at Royal York Road, swerved around a stopped vehicle and crossed all lanes of Royal York Road, where it struck a stopped TTC bus,” he said.
The driver of the vehicle suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, while one occupant of the bus suffered minor injuries.
No charges have been laid, as police continue to investigate the cause of the crash, Stibbe added.
“(Police) are looking to see what exactly happened – whether there was either a possible mechanical or medical issue that caused the collision,” he said.
