Police are seeking a male hit-and-run driver after a woman crossing Eglinton Avenue on Monday night was struck and pinned under an SUV.
The woman, aged 44, was crossing Eglinton from north to south at the Midland Avenue intersection at around 8:40 p.m. on Feb. 25 with her 11-year-old son when a northbound 1999 Lincoln Navigator turned left on to Eglinton’s westbound lanes, Toronto police said.
As the woman lay trapped under the Lincoln, the driver got out of the vehilce and fled the area, police said.
The woman was sent to hospital with what are said to be “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.” Her son was not injured.
Police have not reported who owns the vehicle, which was examined by the Forensic Identification Services Unit.
There has been only a vague description of the male driver released, but police have asked for the public’s help in identifying him.
