The Scarborough Walk of Fame’s 2013 inductees were announced Friday, Feb. 22, with seven individuals and groups being immortalized with a star this year, including Barenaked Ladies and Christine Bentley.

Formed in Scarborough in 1988, international music sensation Barenaked Ladies has sold more than 15 million records and racked up a slew of accolades along the way, including seven Juno Awards and two Grammy nominations, as well as Billboard Music, World Music and MuchMusic Video awards. The band, also known for recording the theme song for the popular television show The Big Bang Theory, is honoured under the Walk of Fame’s entertainment category. The honourees will receive their stars during an induction ceremony at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15 at Scarborough Town Centre, 300 Borough Dr.
