Former Weston Skating Club coach faces additional sexual assault charges

Police have laid additional charges against a former Weston Skating Club coach in a historical sexual assault investigation.

A former student of the accused alleges he was sexually assaulted on several occasions over a period of three to four months when he was 12 or 13 years old.

Kevin Michael Hicks, 53, of Toronto, was charged Tuesday, Feb. 19 with three counts of indecent assault male.

The accused was previously charged in September with four counts of sexual assault and buggery involving an alleged sexual assault against a 12-year-old male student between 1983 and 1990.

According to police Hicks is a former national−level figure skater and a former coach with Woodbine Winter Skating Club, Weston Skating Club, Windsor Skating Club and Burlington Skating Club. He had also coached figure skating in Burlington, Toronto, Mississauga and Windsor during the 1980s, police said.

Police believe there may be more victims.
