Walkers at the Scarborough Civic Centre raise money for Rouge Valley Centenary hospital

Scarborough Mirror

Walkers at the Scarborough Civic Centre will use a Family Day outing Monday, Feb. 18, to raise money for lifesaving equipment at the Rouge Valley Health System’s Centenary campus.

The Scarborough Muslim Community and the Save Family Values groups hope to raise $50,000 for new echocardiograms at the annual Heart of It All event, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the civic building on Borough Drive.

“These echocardiogram machines are so important to doctors in diagnosing heart ailments. They will save lives,” Foundation President Chad Hanna said in a release.

People can learn how to participate or support a walker at the foundation’s web page, www.rougevalley.ca/rvhsf/
