Police say an incident in front of 1501 Queen St. W., which left a 19-year-old man in critical condition, does not have a criminal element to it.
Police say there was no criminal element to an incident in Parkdale that left a 19-year-old man in critical condition.
“This incident is not being treated as suspicious,” said Const. Victor Kwong with Toronto police. “There was no criminal element to the man’s injuries.”
Police in 14 Division launched an investigation after they were called to a local hospital just before 4 a.m. Jan. 30 because a man was taken there with life-threatening injuries.
Kwong said the man had been found by Emergency Medical Services face down in the street in front of 1501 Queen St. W., a large apartment building at the corner of Beaty Avenue.
Kim McKinnon with Toronto Emergency Medical Services said EMS responded to a call at 2 a.m.
“We did transport a man with very, very serious life-threatening injuries,” McKinnon said. “It was a traumatic injury.”
McKinnon explained she was not able to elaborate on the nature of the injury beyond the fact the man was unconscious.
