Woman injured after being struck by bus on Eglinton Avenue

Toronto police have closed off a portion of Eglinton Avenue, near Birchmount Road, after a pedestrian was reportedly struck by a TTC bus during rush hour Wednesday, Jan. 23, afternoon.

The accident reportedly took place at Eglinton and Sinnott Road, west of Birchmount Road.

Reports indicate the pedestrian, believed to be woman, between the ages of 30 and 40, was trapped under the bus before being rushed to hospital.

Her injuries are believed to be serious.

Toronto police have closed the intersection to all traffic while they investigate the circumstances of the accident.

The TTC also announced it is diverting the 34 Eglinton bus service in both directions for the time being.
