Changes planned for Dundas and Kingston intersection
The complicated intersection of Dundas Street East and Kingston Road will be getting a lot simpler if Toronto Council goes along with a plan to redesign the roads.
Toronto and East York Community Council recommended the plan on Tuesday, Jan. 22. If approved, there will be several changes to the intersection, which includes a TTC shelter in the middle of the southbound lanes of Kingston Road, and a small road that cuts between Dundas and Kingston Road, a few metres south of the intersection proper.
Toronto’s Transportation Services are planning on removing Edgewood Ave. entirely, and constructing a small parkette in its place.
The city is also hoping to remove the transit shelter from the middle of the southbound lanes on Kingston Road, so as to widen the sidewalks.
