A woman is in hospital after a fire broke out inside a Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue apartment building early Wednesday, Jan. 16.

Firefighters were met with heavy flames inside the apartment around 1:30 a.m.

Emergency crews were able to revive a dog, who was initially without vital signs.

The woman was taken to hospital in serious condition.

The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
