Police in North York seek man wanted in purse snatching

Police have released security camera footage of a man wanted in an armed purse snatching Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Police said a woman was approached by a man in the pedestrian tunnel between the Sheppard Centre and Government of Canada building around 9:30 a.m. The man, armed with a handgun, stole the woman’s cell phone and purse. He then fled towards the Sheppard Centre at Yonge Street.
The suspect is described as dark brown in complexion, 6’2 to 6’4, 180 pounds and in his late 20s.
He was wearing a dark, hip length winter jacket, light coloured pants, black athletic shoes with light coloured soles and a medium brown poorboy−style hat.
