Local snowboarding and skiing enthusiasts were given another reason besides the snowy weather to be excited about Earl Bale’s Ski and Snowboard Centre this week.
With Mayor Rob Ford in attendance, the North York park’s ski centre unveiled its new $2.3 million ski lift on Friday, Jan 4.
The quad ski lift will get skiers and snowboarders up the hill faster than the existing two-person chair lift, which will still be in use.
Along with Mayor Ford was Scarborough-Agincourt Councillor Norm Kelly, chair of the city’s parks and environment committee, and York Centre Councillor James Pasternak.
All three parties helped cut the ribbon on the new lift.
