Police warn tobogganers about glass found on Greenwood Park hill

Beach Mirror

Police are warning the public, especially tobogganers, to be aware of their surroundings after glass was discovered on a hill at Greenwood Park.

A posting on the Facebook group Friends of Greenwood Park noted a family had visited the Gerrard Street and Jones Avenue park Thursday, Jan. 3, and an adult had cut his leg on glass hidden under falling snow.

After a reporter called police seeking comment, an officer from 55 Division paid a visit to the park and recovered a small quantity of glass near the sledding hill, noting it might have been from furniture that had been disposed in the area.

Criminal activity is not suspected and the officer cleaned up the glass and warned those in the park to be careful, police said.
