Residents rally to keep fire hall open
Bloor West Villager
Residents have banded together to organize a rally to save the Runnymede Fire Station.
The fire hall no. 424 is facing potential closure in January because of City of Toronto budget constraints. Local residents say the building is important to the neighbourhood’s heritage and community – closing it would be a threat to public safety.
The rally takes place Thursday at the station, on Runnymede Road, just south of Annette Street starting at 7 p.m. This is a family-friendly event that will include Christmas carols in support of local firefighters.
