Thousands have power restored within hours
Etobicoke Guardian
Approximately 3,000 south Etobicoke residents went without power for a few hours Sunday night.
The outage around 10 p.m. on Nov. 18 affected approximately 3,000 Toronto Hydro customers who live in the area between Kipling Avenue and Royal York Road and Lake Shore Boulevard West and The Queensway.
Some 90 per cent of those affected had their hydro restored by midnight, Toronto Hydro spokesperson Tanya Bruckmueller said.
The power outage was caused by a fire in an apartment building, as well as a nearby downed wire, Bruckmueller said.
Toronto Hydro delivers electricity to approximately 712,000 customers in Toronto.
