Extra trains will run on all of GO Transit lines for riders attending Sunday’s Santa Claus Parade.
On every GO line one train trip will be made available for trips into Toronto before and out of Union Station after the parade, which starts at 12:30 p.m. at Christie Pits and ends at the St. Lawrence Market on Front Street.
The transit agency is also offering a special $20 group day pass which will allow five people to travel all day. The passes are currently available at most GO stations.
The TTC is also recommending parade attendees take transit to avoid traffic and parking issues.
Subway stations directly along the parade route include Spadina, St. George and St. Andrew among others. Downtown streetcars are expected to maintain regular routing during the parade.
TTC is also suggesting families attending the parade purchase a day pass for $10.50, which provides unlimited travel on all vehicles for up to six people.
GO also announced that beginning today (Thursday, Nov. 15), it will guarantee refunds to riders whose train rides are late by at least 15 minutes, provided the delay was not due to weather or emergency reasons.
Presto card users can submit claims online at www.gotransit.com while single ticket and group or day pass holders will need to visit a GO station to get their refund.
