Deciding what to get the loved ones on your list for Christmas can either be a cheerful experience or a chore.
The Stop Community Food Centre’s is hoping to make shopping this season enjoyable with its ‘Gifts That Matters campaign’. The Stop is asking people to make a $25 donation toward a food hamper for a family in need on behalf of the special people on your list.
The Stop will then send them a card letting them know of the gift.
There are other ways to support The Stop during the holiday season.
The Stop offers holiday platters, featuring items like smoked trout, spiced nuts and seeds, pickles and its in-house charcuterie. Another creative way to support the group’s work is by hosting third-party events and donating the proceeds to the organization.
Runnymede United Church continues to support The Stop with proceeds from its annual reading of ‘A Christmas Carol’. This year’s event takes place on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $25. For tickets, call 416-767-6729.
