Arrest in poppy box thefts

Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with poppy donation box thefts.

Between Tuesday, Nov. 6 and Thursday, Nov. 8, Royal Canadian Legion donation boxes were stolen from two Eglinton Avenue restaurants and one Oakwood Avenue store, police said.

Security camera video helped police in arresting a suspect.

Christopher Ethier, 31, of Toronto, was arrested Thursday, Nov. 8 and charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of fail to comply with probation.
