Remembrance Day services are taking place at the East York Civic Centre on Sunday, Nov. 11, starting at 10:45 a.m.
The days’ service will include two minutes of silence, the playing of The Last Post, placing of wreaths on the cenotaph and a memorial service.
Cadet Master Warrant Officer Stephen Strack will read John McCrae’s poem In Flanders Fields.
The First Light Scout Band, 236th Toronto Scout Group, Scouts Canada will perform Remember Them Well, written by James Sloan.
Also a flypast will by the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will take place during the ceremony.
Beaches-East York Councillor Janet Davis and Toronto-Danforth Councillor Mary Fragedakis will also be speaking at the ceremony.
The East York Cenotaph is located in the Memorial Gardens at the East York Civic Centre, 850 Coxwell Ave.
