A new local church is hosting its first art show and sale Saturday, Nov. 10, from 1 to 6 p.m.
Catch the Fire Scarborough Campus, a new local church, which meets in the Wilmar Heights United Church building, 963 Pharmacy Ave., is hosting an art show and sale.
A wide variety of creative items will be available including paintings in diverse media, drawings, photography, jewelry, knitting, poetry and more.
Many of these pieces have been created by community members and will be on sale at accessible prices.
There will be a coffeehouse atmosphere with a number of musicians presenting popular and original music.
Beverages and snacks will be served free of charge.
Catch the Fire is a multicultural church with 10 locations in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Scarborough Campus moved into the Wilmar Heights United Church in February. Saturday’s Art from the Heart event is a chance to meet with the neighbourhood, Pastor Ramesh Naraine said.
