Leslieville fire extinguished
Forty firefighters worked for more than an hour late Monday afternoon to extinguish a smoky two-alarm fire in Leslieville.
The blaze, which broke out around 4 p.m. Aug. 20, originated in the roof of an attached building at 1025/1027 Queen St. E., near Winnifred Avenue.
The fire is currently confined to those two addresses, said Toronto Fire Capt. Stephen Powell.
“There were flames visible on arrival,” he said, urging people to avoid Queen Street East, which is currently off limits from Pape to Brooklyn avenues.
“We’re still on scene.”
Powell also said there are no reports of injuries at this time, adding roofers had worked on the building earlier today.
The official cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
