Second person charged in fatal stabbing near McCowan Road and Hwy. 401

A second man has been charged in the July 22 stabbing death of 22-year-old Nirosan Thillainathan.
Police said they responded to an assault in progress near McCowan Road and Hwy. 401 at 2 a.m.
Thillainathan was found dead with apparent chest injuries. An autopsy determined he died of stab wounds.
On July 22, Zishan Malik, 20, was charged with second-degree murder.
Hussain Saeed, 20, was arrested at about 10 a.m. Friday. He too is charged with second-degree murder.
Investigators are also appealing for witnesses to three confrontations that occurred within two hours of the murder:
• just after midnight at the Shell gas station at 1670 McCowan Rd.
• at about 1:45 a.m. at 1703 McCowan Rd.
• at about 1:50 a.m. on southbound McCowan from 1703 McCowan to the 401.
Thillainathan is the city’s 31st murder victim of 2012.
