South Etobicoke Youth Assembly is launching its third annual free summer leadership camp series.
The youth-led initiative features special guests, young professionals speaking on: leadership and team building, goal setting, respect and tolerance, healthy relationships, mental health awareness, arts and culture and the influence of social media.
The multi-faceted camp emphasizes youth development, social skills as well as employment skills and career exploration through arts and activity-based learning.
This month’s camp from July 16 to 20 for 14 to 19 year olds is a partnership between LAMP Community Health Centre and Lakeshore Collegiate Institute. Lunch will be served daily.
Thirteen year olds may participate if they are headed to high school in September.
Campers who attend all week will go to Wasaga Beach for the day with support from the Tim Hortons Foundation.
Next month’s camp runs from Aug. 13 to 17.
Both camps are held at Humber College Community Gym, 300 Birmingham St.
South Etobicoke Youth Assembly (SEYA) was established in 2000 to provide youth with a safe and supportive space to discover, express, create and contribute towards a healthy society.
