Budget release

Budget chair Gary Crawford (middle), flanked by members of his committee, takes questions at city hall Tuesday, Dec. 16 following the release of the initial 2017 operating and capital budgets.

Stephanie Ball

Stephanie Ball, who has used an electric wheelchair to get around for the last six years, contacted the city after learning that the location of a public meeting about the construction of an accessible, co-operative housing building at Upper Gerrard Street and Coxwell Avenue was not wheelchair accessible. The community consultation, which was originally slated to take place Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Royal Canadian Legion Baron Byng Beaches Branch 1/42 was then moved to the nearby Lazy Daisy’s Café. It has now been postponed until the New Year. The city is working to book a more suitable, accessible location.
