The Scarborough Hospital's General division hosts the It’s Time to Talk series, Food for Thought: You Are What You Eat, on March 1 at 7 p.m.

The truth about their favourite comfort foods may make people uncomfortable, but its one of several topics for an evening of professional advice March 1 at The Scarborough Hospital.The latest in the TSH It's Time to Talk series, Food for Thought: You Are What You Eat, also covers eating disorders and how to "bad eating habits without breaking the bank."Many people "are overwhelmed by the prospect of making healthy choices that will fit their lifestyle and help improve their condition," Dr. George Vertes, a TSH cardiologist and one of the speakers, said in a release.Instead of cookies, people attending the 7 p.m. forum, which follows an hour-long health fair at the General campus on Lawrence Avenue, will be served a healthy snack, perhaps a cucumber wrap, prepared by Toronto-based chef Joshna Maharaj.Maharaj is working with the hospital's ReFRESHing our Menu project, seeking to revamp food for patients at the General with Ontario vegetables, the release said.The forum and parking for its audience are free, but seat reservations are required.
