Community cannery project offers preserving workshops

Preserving Parkdale Project, a joint community cannery project of the West End Food Co-op (WEFC) and the Parkdale Activity Recreation Centre (PARC), will present two community cannery workshops this June.

Led by Heather Kilner from Not Far From the Tree, Michelle Quintal from PARC and Karin Ng from WEFC, the workshops will teach participants how to preserve the harvest.

The workshops include: Preserving Fruit on Friday, June 18, 5 to 8 p.m.; and Preserving and Pickling on Friday, June 25, 5 to 8 p.m.

The workshops will be held at the Parkdale Activity Recreation Centre at 1499 Queen St W. Pre-register at www.westendfood.coop. Registration is $25 for WEFC members, or $30 for non-members. For inquiries, please contact info@westendfood.coop.
