Wasn't there an election in Canada?
It is entirely possible that at the advanced age of 51 I have come to the point where the excitement of preparing to vote in an election has diminished to close to zero. Or it could be just that this election has been the most boring in recent memory.

An Election Canard
We are heading to an election that could finally propel the Conservatives to a majority government. While I am not unhappy with the way things have played out over the past few years, I still find it amusing that Stephen Harper has had to audition for the top job for five years before the average Canadian voter can bring themselves to believe he is really not scary.

What price security?
As a pilot and former worker at Pearson International Airport, I can't help but be saddened by the mis-directed efforts of public servants trying to keep passengers safe. At what point does the cure become worse than the disease?

Soccer question - help me please
So Brazil, the top-rated soccer team at the World Cup in South Africa plays North Korea, the 105th-rated team and wins 2-1. Can someone explain what that means? Does it confirm what I've always thought, that soccer is a sport without a real reason for being?
Take the best team of any sport and have them play the worst team and the score will be a lot more lopsided than it was in South Africa. So how come soccer is different? How will we know when we have watched a brilliant game, or team, if the score doesn't reflect it.
Please help.
